The author delves into the historical, geographic and political context of the Pinós, especially the Pinós-Fenollet branch, in relation to the preservation of the family heritage and the perpetuation of the lineage. This is done from the study of a testament, that of Bernat Galceran II de Pinós-Fenollet, called the Knight, in order to develop the political aspects that would end up originating an internal crisis of the lineage and a lawsuit that will last more than a century.
